In July 2014, Draper received wide coverage for his purchase at a US Marshals Service auction of seized bitcoins from the Silk Road marketplace website. He predicted that Bitcoin will break through $10,000 in 2017.

Asra Nadeem

Asra is the first female Pakistani venture capitalist and a global speaker. As the Vice President at DraperU, a pre-accelerator, Asra leads the startup, corporate and investor education programs. She also invests in early stage companies through DraperU Ventures, where she is a founding partner. DraperU alumni have raised $250M+ in investments and include companies like QTUM ($5B) and nVision ($275M acq). Aside from investing, most of Asra’s work is directly with governments, universities and international incubators to establish local entrepreneurial hubs, investment opportunities and corporate innovation initiatives. Before working at DraperU, Asra worked on product and market development for startups in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia. She was an early employee and the first female product manager in Pakistan for (jobsite) and (matchmaking for Muslims). She later led's special projects team to build web infrastructure for government organizations and MNC's in the MENA region. She frequently speaks globally to help teams and individuals innovate around the future of work, understand the basics of angel investing, build startup ecosystems and engineer an entrepreneurial mindset. Phil  Long  is  a  partner  at  the  law  firm  Miller  Thomson  LLP,  practicing corporate  and  securities  law  with  a  focus  on  technology  and  blockchain  businesses.    Phil regularly  advises  emerging  and  high-growth  clients  on financings  and  other  aspects  of  corporate  commercial  law.    He  has  helped  developers  of  blockchain  technologies  raise capital  through  early  stage  and  venture  financing,  initial coin offerings  and  from  traditional  capital  markets.  Phil  is  a member  of  the  firm’s  Business  Law  and  M&A  Group  and is  a  member  of  the  firm’s  Blockchain  Group.

Sunny Feng Han

Sunny Feng Han, Co-founder of Elastos Foundation. A visiting scholar at Columbia University, and HUAWEI Central Research Institute blockchaln consultant. He is also the Secretary of DACA(Distributed Autonomous Coalition Asia of blockchain). He edited “Blockchain New Economic Blueprint and Introduction” and “Blockchain: Quantum Concept of Wealth”, and developed the Tsinghua University graduate course “Cyber Intelligent Economy and Blockchain” and served as speaker. Mr. Han has been invited to numerous U.S. and international conferences to discuss Blockchain industry and innovative technology, as the keynote speaker or panelist.

Mike McGlone

Mike McGlone is a senior commodity strategist for Bloomberg Intelligence, a unique research platform that provides context on industries, companies, and government policy, available on the Bloomberg Professional service at BI <GO>. Mr. McGlone specializes in the broad investible commodity markets. Mr. McGlone joined Bloomberg in 2016 with over 25 years of futures and commodity trading and investing experience, beginning at the Chicago Board of Trade. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he was a head of US research at ETF Securities. Prior to ETF Securities, Mr. McGlone headed the commodity business at S&P Indices. His previous roles included head of futures research at ABN Amro and VP research, analyst, trader, sales at Aubrey G. Lanston / IBJ Futures. Mr. McGlone has an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago and bachelor’s of science and arts degrees from Illinois State University. He is a CFA Charter holder and has earned a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.

Jos Schmitt is one of the founders and President & CEO of the Aequitas NEO Exchange, a stock exchange he formed with the support of a number of blue chip financial institutions.Prior to NEO and in the role of President & CEO, Jos formed together with a number of blue chip financial institutions the Alpha Group of companies, including the Alpha Stock Exchange. This followed his role as EVP Head of the Americas and Global Head of Capital Markets for a global professional services company focused on the financial services industry. During his tenure at this professional services company, where he was part of the original partnership group, he acted as strategic advisor and director of operational and/or technology programs for some of the largest stock and derivatives exchanges and clearing houses, alternative markets, data vendors and broker-dealers around the globe. Some of his other previous roles include: President and CEO of a European Derivatives Exchange and Clearing House, President and CEO of a pan-European Indices Publisher, Chairman of a Derivatives SRO, and Head of Strategy and Business Operations at a European Stock Exchange.


Jos has a strong commitment to community as a member of the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation Board and through his active involvement with Free the Children.


Andrew Kiguel

Andrew joins Hut 8 from GMP Securities L.P., where he played an integral role for more than 18 years, including most recently as Managing Director, Investment Banking, as well as a key member of GMP’s Blockchain Investment Banking Group. He is a co-founder of Hut 8 and played an fundamental role in the formation, structure, and financing of Hut 8. Andrew has extensive experience in providing investment banking services to numerous public and private entities, including raising equity and debt capital in excess of C$3 billion over the last five years. He has also worked in an advisory role on numerous marquee M&A transactions.


Russell Korus

Russell Korus is the Co-founder and CEO of EZ Exchange, a revolutionary security and service-oriented, and user-friendly cryptocurrency exchange platform. He is a Blockchain visionary and cryptocurrency evangelist. Russell is also an angel investor focused on emerging markets and start-up incubation for new tech ventures. 

While his career began in the financial services and insurance industries, Russell noted the rapidly growing influence of the Internet in the late 90's and switched careers to begin building e-commerce platforms in a Java environment. After several years of development work, Russell moved into Sales Engineering, eventually running the Sales Engineering Departments at several prominent technology firms. 

Russell's vision is to bring cryptocurrency to the masses in an easy and secure way.


Xiaochen Zhang

Xiaochen  leads  the  design  and  implementation  of Blockchain  Frontier Foundation and  FinTech4Goods’s strategy  which  aim  to  introduce  impactful  fintech  and blockchain  solutions  to  frontier  markets  through incubation,  acceleration  and  investment.  He  is  the Chairman  of  the  Global  Digital  Economy  Leadership Council,  and  serves  on  the  Crowdfunding  Professional  Association  Board  of  Directors,  UN  ESCAP  Digital  Economy  Task  Force  and  as  a  senior  advisor  of  the China  Social  Entrepreneurs  Foundation  and  Inter-America Development  Bank.  He  brings  more  than  17  years  of  thought  leadership  and  global  experience  to  build  impactful  solutions  and  scale  up  innovative  ideas  in  North  America,  Africa,  Latin  America,  Europe  and  Asia.  Prior  to  FinTech4Good,  Xiaochen  advised  government  agencies  and  multinational  organizations  on  innovation,  emerging  technologies,  and  investment  in  positions  at  the  World  Bank,  United  Nations,  and other international partnership  platforms.  He  also  taught  innovation  and  venture  building  at  leading  business  schools  and  served  as  mentors  for  many  innovative  businesses. 


Michael Conn

Michael was the co-Founder and CEO of Ether Capital (ETHC:NEO) having successfully led a recent $45 million private placement raise and subsequent reverse takeover to go public. He is also the Founder of Quail Creek Partners, an advisory and consulting business focused on the global financial services, financial technology and blockchain/crypto space. Michael brings a wealth of experience in financial services having served in various senior executive positions at AllianceBernstein and The TCW Group, Inc., with responsibilities for portfolio management, operations, sales, and marketing. Michael’s diverse industry experience includes time at the Los Angeles Times/Tribune Company, McMaster-Carr Supply Company, and the US Embassy in Paris. Michael, who is fluent in French and conversant in several other languages, holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and Economics from Brandeis University and an MBA with honors from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Ross Zhang is the General Manager of Huobi Canada. Established Huobi's first Canadian office in Toronto. Before joining Huobi, he is responsible for total portfolio management at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) with $350B AUM. Prior to that, he was a team lead at OTPP, CIBC, and Oracle. As an expert in both finance and technology, he has extensive experiences in technology, investment and management.
